Should drinking coffee result in sweating and heart palpitations?
Or is drinking 4 cups of chocolate cappuccino too much in one sitting?

3. I think you build a tolerance
Cuban Coffee was big where I was before here and it made my innards vibrate. Others drank it like water.

:D

5. Rusty returned home today...
Edited on Sat May-17-08 08:28 PM by HypnoToad
Follow-up in 3 weeks. Definitely doing better, but I'm keeping a close eye on him. So far, so good. Except he didn't forget his biting habit...

Scooter is STILL adjusting to his new home. Will have his bloodwork done the same time as Rusty's follow-up check.

Relatives surprised that I bought a second conure, but know I am aware of the responsibilities. If Scooter is too loud, he'll be returned.

The parrotlets are behaving better when I'm around; probably because they see me tending to the conures. They only get rowdy when I exchange their eaten food husks for fresh uneaten food.

Thx for the reminder! :pals:

17. Good to hear Rusty is back home
And doing well.
And give Scooter some time to adjust and fit in ... it takes time.

How many birds do you have? Birds ain't my thing, but I rescued a finch injured in a storm. I took him to the vet and about every 30 minutes I'd leave work to check on him. My boss figured it out - but she was cool. She let me do it. And he still died and I cried for days, and I don't even like birds that much.

Khash.

19. At this point, 4...
With their introduction, the parrotlets haven't been as territorial around me (though I still can't get too close.) Indeed, if I saw what I thought I saw this morning, they could have babies by mid-June...

Rusty is loud as usual; just during dawn and dusk. Scooter is shy and silent; only calls out if he hears Rusty. Today I'm fitting in his new cage. I was going to return the old one, except I saw Piers porkin' Piri, so they'll need the extra space until they get sold (September), though I shouldn't count the poultry until they hatch...

I know those 3, 20oz., 7/11 black coffees I used to drink before I got to work had an energizing effect... :D

8. i think it depends on how much you're used to, i drink an entire 12 cup pot everyday
so caffeine never really makes me jumpy unless i haven't eaten anything and pound a few too many cups. You should probably eat something even though you may not feel like it. Like a sandwich made with some big bread.

9. Four cups of chocolate cappuccino isn't too much in one sitting...
as long as you wear your mouth protectors to save your teeth from all the grinding.

10. Palpitations yes.
Caffeine is the number one cause of palpitations. However, the sweating is not typical. I am going to PM you.

11. Yes...(That's my answer as a barista...a coffee pro.)
That's a lot of caffeine. Assuming that each mochaccino had two shots of espresso in it, 4 drinks would be 8 shots. To be more precise, it's over 400mg. of caffeine in one hour...caffeine intoxication (which is rarely but potentially lethal) usually occurs around 300mg. absorbed into the bloodstream over 2-4 hours in an average-sized male.

So yeah, that's way too much. Lay off the caffeine some. The same rules apply to caffeine as liquor...moderation, know your limits, alternate with water, drink slow and enjoy, do not binge caffeinate.

12. Some are more sensitive to caffeine
and if the cappucino's are loaded with caffeine then sweating and heart palpitations might be expected.

You probably had an anxiety attack triggered by the caffeine which is indeed possible.

An overdose of caffeine is a pretty large amount.

13. keep in mind that fatigue and dehydration also lead to palpitations...
...and also a potassium deficiency can do the same. So eat a banana, drink some water, and get more rest.

16. Yup, slow down, boy!
I used to drink a lot of coffee in college and then lay in bed all night sweating, my heart pounding, thinking I was about to die. I quit.

Cool pic of the Rani :)

Gotta thank the BBC for the Rani pic; one of my favorite villains from WHO. (she didn't fare as well in "Time and the Rani", but in "The Mark of the Rani" her characterization was perfect.)

18. I was rushed to ER in 2004 with racing heart: verdict?
TOO MUCH CAFFEINE. Heart rate over 180bpm. Fucking scary shit.

I gave it all up that day, no more coffee, no more coke.

Sleep better too. Don't miss the roller coaster AT ALL.
