IPA fans - if you can find this obscure Norwegian Beer - BUY IT. It is nectar supreme. Just like how different parts of the US brew IPA's and DIPA's to their local style, Norway does its IIPA to the beat of a Norwegian Drummer. One who speaks not of Lutevisk, but of Cascade Hops and Wheat (yeah, wheat!) malt. Mostly Barley malt, but there is some wheat, and it gives this beer a rich, different and subtle flavor.
I love this stuff, and at the end of the bottle I was tempted to book RT tickets to Grimstad to buy a case of this stuff.
So here's a salute to my DU Norwegian-American Brothers - may you try this beer and may you catch many fish!
Oh, and bring me back a case - OK? Next time you hit Oslo.
