But my adult status is usually in question. Bubbles is my favorite Powerpuff Girl 'cuz she is so ditzy and has a cute laugh. Miz Bellum and her chest are my favorite characters. Mojo Jojo is my favorite villian because of his superb logic.

At the end of Scooby Doo tape my son has there is this Power Puff vid and it rocks. The Boogie Man and the 70's commentary and the scenes are all funny as hell. My son never cared too much about sex roles in cartoons and watched it. Funny thing is that my 2 year old daughter stops whatever she is doing and racing to the tv to watch this. WTF?

Is the response somehow hardwired to a little girl's psyche?

Has the CartoonNetwork folks figured out something fundamental about marketing to young girls in an almost subconcious fashion?

Beats the hell out of me but she stops playing immediately, pulls up her chair and watched the Power Puff girls the minute they come on.

Buttercup is my favorite! She reminds me of my lovely wife.



I saw one a week or so ago that was a little bit schmaltzy: sort of a mid-80's, Hanna-Barbera, "the girls learn a valuable lesson about love and loyalty" kind of trip. That was the only one that ever disappointed me. Otherwise, they RAWK. Love the closing theme by Shonen Knife too.
