ULRICH SCHNAUSS, A Strangely Isolated Place

Am just now listening to it for the first time, and I am transfixed. It is EXCELLENT. For those of you with esoteric taste and a discerning musical palette.

Never be afraid to listen to something new! You will always surprise yourself at how much truly good music there is in the world!

1. very nice soothing music--thanks
Ambient with a beat and melody. A bit conventional but pretty. Sounds a little like Cluster and Eno, and Connie Plank from the late 70s and early eighties.

2. Here's a link to some electronic music
that breaks more boundaries regarding time signature, concept, etc. It is a friend of mine's website. He has done a lot in the more underground experimental mode of electronic music. The composer John Cage was a fan of his.

4. I don't really like a lot of the music he makes
but I admire how he has stuck to it, and his adventuresomeness. For regular listening while cooking and reading I prefer music similar to what you posted a link to.

6. Haven't really found any Trance that I enjoy
It seems a bit too monotonous for me, from the stuff I've heard. Hang out on the unenet electronic music group (alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.electronic and similar groups) and someone will be able to point you in the right direction. Barring that, there's also IRC.
