But in this economy a lot of people are strapped for cash and what extra they have they've donated to candidates, hoping for something better. But when the bills come in they have to be paid. Advertising can help, but you've been very minimal and nonintrusive with it, thank you.

Keep in mind that DUers may be reluctant to donate this time for reasons that have nothing to do with DU or you.

Try stressing the importance of even very small donations, Obama/Dean style. Even a few bucks should help.

Another thing is that DUers like having something that says we donated, like the little sig lines that say "I donated to this quarter's drive". That's a big motivator for me.

23. My state is just about to die economically. I am guessing times

are tough all over the country. I am guessing fund drives will bring in less and less $$$. I really doubt that it has anything to do with a love/hate relationship for the admins either way. At least I hope most people are mature enough to not base actions on such silly stuff. But, then again...
