2. He thinks of himself as a writer first and foremost
Edited on Sat May-10-08 02:24 PM by Chan790
he did an interview several years ago in which he said he only acted so he could have the money to support himself as a writer.

Kinda like Paul Newman saying he thinks of himself first and foremost as a race car driver. Or was that Steve McQueen?

Edit: I have no idea how good of a writer he is...I've never read his books.

4. i suppose it depends on what you mean by the words "writing" and "novel"
first two sentences of this book:

"I was driving a '69 Chevy Nova 370 four-barrel with mag wheels and a dual exhaust. It's a kick-ass car."

other gems:

"Trees are wonderful."

"Anybody can go to Iowa University.

"The Andersons' front yard looked like a frozen-over version of Satan's lair."
