What is the best online "people finder" utility?

For finding old friends and such. What is the most accurate, up to date, etc.

Any recommendations? I know the biggies, but I was hoping some DUer would be able to point me in the direction of an obscure, but extremely efficient sleeper that might be out of my awareness.

1. I got Reunion.com

It has more people from my old high school and a message board. And it's free.

2. I've never had much luck with these things.

Especially with e-mail finders. In fact, my e-mail is through Yahoo, and I went to Yahoo's people finder, entered my own e-mail address, and it came up empty!!! They did not have me in their data base. I've never been able to find other people either, even a couple where I know exactly where they live, and I'm positive that they have e-mail addys.

If the people you're looking for are listed in a phone book somewhere, you should be able to get addresses and phone numbers, though.

3. I've always had good luck starting with Google

Google a name, check the newsgroups. Often there will be a phone number or address, maybe someone went to an event of some kind. Google the address, Google the phone number. Dogpile.com often has things Google doesn't. Boardreader.com follows many boards, names/events show up there as well. Orgs the person belongs to, maybe something big they wouldn't miss.

There's plenty of reverse telephone directories online that are free, as well. Mapquest will give you a lead on an address or street, back that out through the TIGER census maps as well for a better feel of the area. Be creative with phrases.

I've got a few more, but I imagine I'm frightening people enough as it is. I'm terribly good at this. :)
