Biodegradeable packing peanuts - news to me
I just received a package today and inside was a note that said the packing peanuts were made of starch and would completely dissolve in water.

I tried - they do.

Great job by whoever invented them.

1. They've been around for a few years.
That's cool. :)

I wish I saw things like that used more often.

4. The package was from Foster and Smith Pet Care
For any of you in need of "pet stuff" at least you know they're green.

2. You can actually eat the things. I tried it once. Need salt. Badly.
Not highly recommended.
Cheetos are better.

5. Cheetos make bad packing materials
The cheese powder gets on everything. Cheese-less Cheetos would work.

6. Then how come so few companies use them?
Are they much more expensive then plastic peanuts?

7. Hey, so did I!
It's Renature..."a natural starch loosefill(typically cornstarch) that is 100% biodegradable, recyclable, reusable and compostable, shaped like an 'S'."

Pretty cool!

:hi:

back then, a company called BioFoam was marketing them, but there was little industry interest, and the company went under.

14. I'm convinced there's goat somewhere in the beagle family tree
I've related the story of my sister's beagle who loves to much on feminine hygiene products and pants crotches. This is really gross but the other day I watched her literally eat sh*t out of one of the other dog's butt as it came out. :shudder:

15. Wow!! That beats anything the beagle has done...but just barely.
I finally started giving the cats stuff that made their poop taste bad to her. Before that, she would sit by the litter boxes and wait while they pooped, and then eat it fresh!

But yeah, yours is worse. Congrats! I didn't think it could be done!

16. Why did they bother?
According to Rush Limbaugh, styrofoam is biodegradable. So no worries!

18. I've known people to use popcorn (NOT the microwave stuff).. for protecting gifts
which are mailed out.. then you can toss the popcorn outside for the birds to eat (or, eat it yourself -if you're really desperate).
