Bay Area DUers ... enjoying the storm?
I had to fly in the damn thing all the way from EUG to SFO. 160 MPH headwind (so the captain said) ... 40 MPH gusts over the Bay ... glad I didn't eat before we left!
:puke:

By far the worst plane flight I have ever experienced.

1. Actually, yes, in a way

We saw the coolest waves this morning... and for once, there were no surfers at the Linda Mar beach. I should have taken a picture...

On edit: I realized that could sound like I have something against surfers; quite the opposite, in fact...

2. This must be the storm heading south for tomorrow.
It's due when I'm going on a field trip with my 30 students to the California science center. My class, and 9 other classes. 300 students commuting all the way to LA (about 50 miles)in a storm.

3. I'm indoors, missing out
I don't really mind the bad weather, though my fellow residents hate me for it :)

4. It still beats an East Coast winter!
While it's a bit nerve wracking to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge with winds blowing my car around and rain pouring so hard I can barely see, I'll take this over the kind of snow I had growing up in upstate NY any day.

I actually clicked on this post thinking the storm you were speaking of was the metaphorical one about the media circus surrounding all the gay marriages going on. I am definitely enjoying that! Every time this city gets under the skin of the right wingers, I get a smile on my face.

5. Cloudy here in L.A. this afternoon, rain due tomorrow...
Sorry about the rough flight, Greg. Those are *not* fun.

6. I'm in Santa Cruz...
no storm here (yet) but it's pretty dark. Plus, I can hear the surf (which is about 7 or 8 blocks away) so it must be up pretty high.
