1. Oh, Blue.
That is gorgeous. How do I sit myself in the middle of that scene?

Just gorgeous.

We had a snow down here in deep-south Mississippi a couple of months ago...I'm posting this photo for you! It's my Dad's old tractor, dusted in snow.

 You're so sweet to do this.

5. Wow! Snow in Mississippi?!
I didn't know that ever happened down there. Are you in the north part of the state? That is an awesome photograph. I'll have to direct my husband over here to see that one. He used to have a little ranch down in Texas in his last incarnation (before he hooked up with me again and I made him move to Alaska :) ), and he l-o-v-e-d his tractor.

8. I'm way down south in southern Miss.
Thanks! That photo just has my dad written all over it. That's where my dad sits most of the spring and summer...lol.

I didn't know you have a Texan husband!? I'm a Texan! I was born in San Antonio, raised in the Port Arthur area. I know your husband knows where PA is.

9. He was born in New York
Edited on Thu May-08-08 01:41 PM by Blue_In_AK
but moved to the Houston area when he was really young, under two I think. I used to live down there myself, which is actually where we met in 1963 when I was 16 and he was 15. We were crazy in love, but my parents thought we were too young to be so serious and put a lot of pressure on me to "play the field," which, as an obedient daughter, I reluctantly agreed to do. So Jimmy and I drifted apart and had no contact after 1967 until I got the urge to look him up in 2000, at which time I located him in Crockett, where he had retired to the mini cattle ranch after his Merchant Marine career. We were both in horrible marriages at the time, one thing led to another, and two divorces later, we were married in June 2003. It's the best thing that ever happened to me. :) True love never dies.

6. I agree.
I think some peace and Zen is just what's needed in the midst of the Hillary/Barack wars.

yours is enchanting and whimsical.

20. It really is,
and, believe me, we really appreciate it after the long winter. Things are just starting to green up a little bit now, tiny leaf buds on the trees, and the perennials are just now sprouting. Spring is running a bit late this year, but it looks like it's finally getting underway in earnest, thank God. That two feet of snow we had April 26th was pretty depressing.

22. Here's the side yard, during a snowstorm, just a few weeks ago...
The same tree is in full bloom now, and I'll post the spring pic just as soon as it's out of the camera...:-)
