I am no longer a property owner in Texas! Yeeee Hawwww!
We closed on the sale of our Dallas house this afternoon. What a relief! We have a lease back through 4/30 to coincide with Mrs. Ds office lease expiration.
I'll be hitting the road back to NC in a couple of days.
7. It's often brought up when you have two properties in two distinct locales
Since you typically can only vote in one jurisdiction, you can only vote where one property is located - it's the old taxation without representation argument...but that could be extended to lots of things (Like when you live in state X, but go to state Y and pay sales tax)
Where did the big monkey that was on your back go? I hope you didn't send him this way! Congrats! I'm almost where you are now and I can't wait! Well...I'm going from Mass. to New Hampshire but it's still a kick!
Seems I remember that you are selling a house too. Our Dallas house had been on and off the market for over three years. Actually, it has been off the market since last April. I guy called me in NC several weeks ago and wanted to know if I'd sell. We dealt direct (no realtor). It was a sweet deal for both of us. Good luck to you. The last few days before closing are the worst.
And happy that it has been a sweet deal! My house is under agreement as of about two weeks ago...two young kids (by my standards!) she is expecting her first child. I can't tell you how much that pleases me!! But it's never over till it's over and I wish you well and I'll be thinking of you! :hi:
