Poll question: To my Gay & Lesbian Friends: Planning on getting married?
I'm excited about these breakthroughs we're having with the whole Civil Unions/Marriage issue for same-sex couples. Personally, I don't see what the big deal is if 2 people want to spend the rest of their lives in a committed relationship and building the family whether they are of the same or opposite sex. To me, I think anyone getting married is nuts, but then I'm just an anti-marriage person.

So I'm curious to find out what folks are planning to do now that San Francisco is breaking records with 2,500+ same-sex marriages and Massachusetts may allow the same in their state.

I think this is a great story and if I can help out with the issue in anyway, I'm on board!!! Call me silly, but I don't see the big deal with not allowing same-sex couples to get married. I mean they're committing to a lifetime monogamous relationhip to each other, what's the big deal???

1. If we are able to marry in SF, we will.
If that is overturned, we might plan a trip to P-town Mass.

"We don't need no stinkin eratz marriage" Hubby and I are DPs and have already spent the money to protect each other years ago. No Brittany marriages for us- that is until it means something- we don't want to jeopardize our DP status.

I don't think getting a SF marriage licences would effect that.

14. Interesting
I'll look into this. But we still not "married". I don't how this works when a heterosexual couple applys for DP and then gets married later on.

4. As soon as you find me a nice husband, sure!
I'm smart, I'm house-trained, and I always put the seat down.

Sing it loud, sing it wide -- Newsjock is husband-hunting. Of course, since my job means that I'll never tell anyone here where I work or where I live, alas, that makes things a little difficult, doesn't it. Sigh.

11. Not for me, thanks
I'm too selfish and "set in my ways" to consider any kind of marriage, even if I were straight, but I'll defend to the death anyone else's right to marry the person of his or her choosing.

12. My wife and I got married in September
in Ontario. It was kind of an accident, cause we had planned a wedding in Key West in June (symbolic of course), but my fiance was refused entry into the US after a visit to her family in Canada. We decided to get married in her home country and it just happened to be legal. So much the better. She was again refused entry into the US the day after our wedding (the system is maddeningly arbritrary) so currently we have one foot in each country. We are happy wherever we are allowed to be together. I applaud all those getting married in the States, and to the Americans who have crossed the border to do so. It will be legal, eventually, I truly believe.

Michael told me when we met he was never going to remarry. I could care less. We've made it nearly 15 years and we're far too settled to go anywhere now.

I feel like I'm watching a taping of "The Dating Game"...

"Bachelor Number 2, have you ever....."
