6. not worth it

Like the Smart they designed the car first and selected the technology to put in it second.
It needs way too much gas, is too expensive and is not an especially good performer. Other cars offer either more power and space, or a better mileage.
So, I would prefer a Golf, Polo or Lupo; even an Opel Astra or a Smart would be at least as interesting.

Edit: no, I don't own one ;-)

9. I thought they wanted to introduce it
I guess it's really a big market: the car that can be loaded on a pick-up; essential to bridge the distance from the parking lot to the entrance

7. I love mine
Have had it for 1 1/2 years and everyday it is still a thrill to drive. It is attractive, fuel efficient, fun to drive and a great value. What's not to like? I say, go for it!

10. One of the women I work with has the Turbo
Edited on Tue Feb-17-04 03:33 PM by geniph
her husband gave it to her for Xmas :wow: She loves it, but I'll bet she'll get tickets - it's quite the pocket rocket (200 hp) and it's red. Cop magnet.

Given my choice of sporty cars, I'd buy a Subaru Impreza WRX in a heartbeat. If you want to go for a REAL pocket rocket, the WRX STI, which is the closest most of us can get to the real rally cars. ZOOM!

I love it and she really loves it. I'm very much not into cars, but I think her mini is great and I love riding around with her.

15. The line "I want a mini-Cooper" from a song called "I Want."
It was by a British band, Department S, in the early '80s I believe. Song went through a list of things he wanted, and that was one of them. Had no idea what that was back then, but I remembered the line when that car showed up here. I'd only heard three songs by that band; loved them all; knew nothing about them. Anyone else remember the song or the band?
