Ever lie re: your race/gender/orientation etc. on a messageboard?
Ever become convinced that somebody else was for ill gotten purposes, yet couldn't prove it?

1. If I said either "yes" or "no", would you believe me?

How do we know what truth is on a message board? We don't.

8. No
Untruths have no appeal to me. I have neither the time nor the motivation for subterfuge. I have had instances where I have unfortunately had reasons to suspect it in others. It's rather disheartening to say the least.

If I have ever implied otherwise I regret the misunderstanding, it was purely unintentional.

19. I had a foaming at the mouth guy convinced I was chinese
But that was on a filesharing program. I kept kicking him from my queue because he wasn't sharing anything himself, and apparently my polite message (a standard spiel when I did that, something along the lines of "Your client is not reporting any shared files, you should get that fixed") caused him incoherent rage. I responded a few times, maintaining a polite, even tone, and presumably my ability to spell and punctuate convinced him that I was... Chinese? I believe the word 'chink' was used a few times.

I may have suggested that his inability to play well with others indicated in turn that he was American, for which I humbly apologise.

I have some kind of anti-deception gene. I have a very hard time misrepresenting myself.

21. No. It's hard enough being myself to begin with.
In all my years on-line, in all the different places I've been, I always say exactly who/what I am.

I've met and made friends with a bunch of people I first met on-line. And none of them have ever been surprised when they met me because I turned out to be who I said I was to begin with. Disappointed, maybe. Surprised, no. :)

22. I don't lie
Some people may believe different things about me if I don't say bit I never never said that I was anything that wasn't. I don't think that anyone has said that they assumed that I was anything besides female which I am.
I have been mistaken for different ethnicities and religions in person. Sometimes I have chosen to correct such people and sometimes I have not.
