The BlueIris Semi-Nightly Poetry Break, 5/1/08
"When Penance Comes: Monkey Boy Talks to the Near Suicide"

"It's like angels made daybreak in my heart;
Like I'm a gift for you, like a wish or something,
And now I'm looking at you, consumed by the part
That blooms music; it's like soaring;
Like now I'm feeling through the front of your nightgown,
And you're all so beautiful; like under
A school desk, someone's carved your initials down
Deep with their own; like at a mirror
Someone is combing their hair for you; like someone,
Alone, fantasizing you real close—
You may want to cut from here but like I've seen it done,
Someone crazy pinning love-starved hope
To brush you by in the halls—so much you don't know;
Don't die; like, it's alright; I'm here, shh, now..."

1. My dear BlueIris...
This looks like a love poem to me...

And it's beautiful!

The way the longing weaves them together is wonderful...

Thank you...

:hug:

2. Thanks, hon. It's "for" a certain person born in the Chinese Year of the Monkey.
His b-day is today.

3. The impression I get reading this
is that the images and fascination are all one sided. I wonder what the person in that hospital bed thinks. And I wonder how the differences in perspective came about. There's a bigger story here.

4. It's part of a series.
I think this is the best of the bunch, but since you "caught" that, I may post the others.
