4. Since you asked....

1. Get married.

2. Become a parent (or step-parent), and hopefully a damned good one.

3. Do whatever I can to help my country become the world's benefactor of peace and love, rather than its hated and feared big bully.

4. Become a published novelist.

5. See many of the old-time R&B and soul artists get at least some of the fame and money that their awesome talent deserves.

6. Visit San Francisco, Chicago, Tokyo, London, Africa, Australia, and my family's homeland of Italy, among other places.

7. Beat the living fuck out of the right-wing pundit of my choice.

8. Lose some serious weight!

9. See peace finally come to Israel and Palestine, not to mention India and Pakistan.

10. Finally own a car manufactured after Reagan left the White House.

you can stay with me and we can both go beat the living fuck out of a right-wing pundit of your choice. We have plenty here too! Personally I'd recommend a starter of Alan Jones, followed by some Zemanek and Satler to follow!

10. Try making a list
1] Of what you would like to do before you die. (take only 5 min)
2] Of what you would like to do in the next five years. (only 5 min)
3] Of what you would like to do in the next six months. (only 5 min)
4] Of what you would like to do if you knew that you would be dead in six months. (5 min)

I would like to help create peace, educate, and heal other beings. I believe that when you die, it is only these criteria upon which you are judged.

Life is about fulling these goals. I would also like to be an important artist, and politician, and see Tibet! And have a healthy family.

12. Wow, I can't think of a thing. i must be ready to go, no I'm not!
This makes me realize that I've had a lot of great opportunities to do things in my life. There were some not so pleasant things in there, too, but they're not important.

I guess it's a question like this that makes me realize what we have.
Husband, (step)children, grandchild, meaningful work, lots of travel, good education, basically good health (with help from modern medicine).

I'm not ready to go yet, but I can't think of anything that's left that I particularly want to do before I die.

Thanks for the question.

21. maybe it's because I'm already old but...
...I've already done the only two things on that list I'm interested in doing, being in the stock market (I don't recommend it, but you'll have to see it for yourself) and having my own business (being self-employed stinks for a number of reasons and has become a dumping place especially for women who can't get decent jobs with all that entails especially the inability to get decent health insurance).

I hope I die before I get married. I have a funny feeling that when I read the replies to your post, A LOT of people will be saying that. No points for originality here!

Live a long and wonderful life with my wife;

Fly in space;

Fly supersonic (I wasn't able to afford Concorde);

Run the Marathon de Sables;

Complete (in official time) an Iron Man Triathlon;

Do my own part to further Dr. King's dream in the South;

Have a family beach house.

Edited on Tue Feb-17-04 03:59 PM by populistmom
1. Continue moving forward career-wise and manage to make a difference in regards to the lives of other women because of it. Also, perhaps to increase a level of awareness in regards to lactation within women's health, and overall public health.

2. Have a truly equal, honest, and loving relationship with a man who can keep up with me in all respects and not be threatened by it, yet respect me, grow with me and cherish me at the same time.

3. To have my children complete their education, know they are loved and worthy, and fullfill their own dreams.

4. To be able to travel and see more of the world than I have been able to thus far in my life.

I want to hold my grandchildren when they are infants and spoil them rotten from that point forward.

I want to dance with my wife on our fiftieth wedding anniversary.

I want to be that old grey-haired man at the concert that everyone asks "what is that old man doing here" about.

I want to make it to base camp at Everest. It used to be summit, but my wife made me promise not to ever try when we got married.

I want to run an ultra marathon.

I want to visit every continent in the world.

These can go on forever...
