Trojan Horse virus
I ran a virus scan the other day and found out I have a Trojan horse virus. I'm not overly proficient when it comes to the computer, so I'm a little lost with how to fix the problem. The only other virus I've ever had was the W32 worm a few months back.

It's really starting to affect my computer adversely. I get a lot of offers to install this or that. I think they're called "Security Warnings". Below is a link to the description of the virus:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Tsias... If you can phone Lithos, he's very good with this type of stuff
I'm not good enough to give you advice but do you actually have any anti-virus software installed? Or did you do an on-line scan?

Symantec didn't give you any details there to help you with.

AVG anti-virus is pretty good and it's free www.grisoft.com

Hope some guru can give you more help. Good luck!

3. I have Norton anti-virus
I also purchased the firewall after the W32 fiasco of a few months ago.

Thanks.

and upload the intelligent updater file for your system, link should be on the front page at 'Download Virus Definitions'
double click the file you upload and it will install the latest defs for Norton.
once installed, run norton virus scan on your hard drive, it 'should' take care of it.

that sounds like a fairly generic warning with no names for the trojan..

and i see they have new defs for 2/16, so i guess i'll be doing the same. Thanks for the reminder :)
you really gotta do this once a week at least...you could set Norton up to take care of it on schedule, but i'm a glutton for the punishing wait on a dialup..
