How sad is it when a 15 year old
is going to write her autobiography (Miley Cyrus)?

By that logic, Madonna is an old crone, and Brittney is an old hag. Jeez. Even her father (Billy Ray) hasn't written his, and he's (horrors!!!) all of 46!!! (47 in August)

7. Actually, I think in her case she became a peppy happy teen, not an angst ridden one.
:P

4. yeah but you have to take into consideration
the kids that like that stuff and for them her autobio would be interesting. As an adult it's easy to see the absurdity but a lot of preteen girl fiction is written in first person so I don't actually think it's that odd. So when you think of the target audience I don't think it's as stupid as it sounds on the surface and I imagine it will probably sell well.

18. I understand,
but like I said in #16, it's the whole "autobiography" part of it. Heck, we had lots of teen mags when I was way young, and following the Raiders, the Monkees, etc., and bios were done often enough for us to buy them, so that's marketing, and that's cool. But it's the "auto" part of it as I said below. Autobiogs are usually written by those approaching a gentle old age where the writer is terrified of dying, and wants to remind the world that they were "someone" once upon a time.

There's just (to me) something perverse about a healthy, ego-centric teen writing her "autobiography." She'll be writing updates every few years just to keep herself caught up!

5. meh
I can't stand her, but she's already accomplished a lot more than some people do in 80 years. There's a market for it, so why not?

17. She has packed a lot of living in a short amount of time, I agree...
if it is ok for Danica to market herself as a sexy racecar driver then why can't Miley write a book?

10. no preteens eh? She's the girl who plays in the TV show Hannah Montana
and Billy Ray (achey breaky heart) Cyrus' daughter. He's also on the show. And yeah I have an 11 year old so I know this shit. It's a shame to be old and have your valuable memory clogged with stupid shit like this but so it goes.

11. She has no friggin' clue.
And if hers sells, I'll release mine. I've got more interesting stories to tell and I won't need to leach off my name or Disney in order to do it.

15. i have a feeling that it isn't being written for you or I
but rather her fans.. namely tweens.

i don't see why everyone is so anti-hannah montana. i swear some people are just freaking rooting for her to turn into another lohan. my little sisters love her show, loved the concert, and love her music. it is silly girl fun.. the same i had when i was little and went to an NSYNC concert and listened to their music. what is wrong with that?

16. I guess my point
is what she's going to be writing 15 years from now, or 20, or......

Is she going to be writing
My Life (at 15)
My Life Again
My Life Yet Again!
My Life Once More!
My Life--Are you getting sick of me yet?

To the majority of us, it's not so much the biography end of it, but the "how-many-times-do-I-get-to-suck-you-dry-as-I-repeat-the-same-stories-again-and-again?" part of it. Perhaps we'll all be spared that if she becomes a nobody in 10 years. :)

22. I've watched the show with my daughter and I have to say
that at least they don't portray her in a sexual manner and the antics are all very innocent and silly in an fun fantasy sort of way and I guess I'd rather my 11 year old watched that than some of the other crap on TV. I'm not a prude but my daughter is really naive for 11 and I'm perfectly happy that she's a late bloomer. It's a lot more appropriate than the hypersexualization of Brittney Spears when she was still a teen. Hell maybe I AM a prude because I hate seeing little kids wear provocative clothing. There's plenty of time for that when you're 18 and actually mature enough to deal with sexuality.

23. I agree
As TV fare for the pre-teen crowd, her show is relatively innocuous and occasionally even mildly amusing.

But I cannot for the life of me figure out why it's developed such a cult. Then again, I'm sure my parents thought I was crazy when I plastered my room with pictures of Farrah Fawcett-Majors.

but then, she'd really accomplished something, being the first deaf-blind person to learn to speak and to graduate from college.
