A little help please..

I downloaded some 1k avatars, and when I transferred them to my webspace they are now 3k +.. How did that happen,and how do I convert them to 1k again, so I can use them ???

4. Yes I do, but it's a mystery to me

I have tried irfanview..picture stage..asmallerimage..gifworks..etc..

have only succeeded a few times :(

Just open it up normal

Resize it

make any adjustments to color/brightness that you want

then do the "Save for Web"

a whole new window is opened up with all sorts of toys -

and you can play around with the quality settings on the right, and the size of the avatar/photo is continualy dispayed in the bottom left corner of the preview window

Save it as a different name, and when the program asks you if you want to save changes to the ORIGONAL, say NO, that way you can "play around" with it later if you are not happy with the first attempt

OH, and you have the option to save it as a GIF or JPEG - top right in the "Save for Web" window JPEG's are much better quality visually, and you can still "squeeze" them pretty small
