Rock Band the Video Game appreciation thread

I got a copy a few months ago since I had to blow my Christmas bonus on something.

It’s still providing hours and hours of entertainment.

I won’t babble endlessly about it and bore folks but I wanted to know who else was a fan and what you like the most about it.

And for those who say: “Play real music instead.”

Please, shut the fuck up.

No one tells Flight Sim enthusiasts to fly real planes.

Rock Band provides a cheap and easy way to experience the vicarious thrills of rock stardom. I just don’t get groupies cuz I’m married to someone in the band.

So let’s give up for the greatest way to waste time since the invention of television.

ps: Is Guitar Hero fun? I still haven’t tried that yet.

1. Guitar Hero is a blast!!

Matcom and I play it quite a bit. We both know how to play guitar, so I agree with your statement above. This is more fun!! No Amps to clog up your house :D I've heard a lot about rock band. Sounds like a great time!!

2. You are playing it with good speakers though right?

Today my wife refused to play because we had all the windows open in the house and she didn't want to antagonize the neighbors.

3. Not normally.

We have hooked it up to the TV in the living room and piped it through the stereo, but it is a little too loud. We have next door neighbors that wouldn't appreciate it much if we played it too loudly, as in calling the police. I am trying to figure out how to hook up some speakers to the PS2...might have to get creative! :D

4. We use Xbox which was quite easy to connect to our Surround Sound System

A cheap adapter was all it took.

We did ask our neighbors when we first got it if it was bothering them and they made the mistake of saying no.

So far they haven't changed their minds.

Unless you're my neighbor, then STFU, cause you suck ass!! You CANNOT sing, and I'm thinking about calling Simon Cowell to your door.

Sorry, it's just that they sing scream until 3 or 4 in the morning. I hate them. :grr: :rant:


Seriously, though, I am so picky when it comes to games, that I'm very happy for someone when they find something they like to play. So, I'm really glad that you are having a great time. As long as it's not coming through my walls all hours of the night. ;)

6. Just got a Wii...thinking about Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero.

Still slowly working on my rented copy of "Bully," though. :)
