If you sign up for Qwest phone service...
I won't name-drop the guy who tried to bamboozle me into buying their $25 plan (plus $10 in fees) that has caller ID, voicemail, and a bunch of other things you'll never really need...

But they do have a basic phone line plan for $15 (plus $10 in fees).

Some Qwest employees are honest and genuine about offering the basic phone plan.

Others will openly deny that they have any phone plans lower than their $25 all-in-one package deal.

The guy who said they had nothing basic, just the $25 deal, said they work on commission too. Dunno how accurate that is, they just sit there and take calls. The people calling want the service so they're going to get a sale...

1. I'm gonna dump Qwest and go with Cox...
I hate Qwest. I've foolishly had their wireless service -- and it constantly goes to roam, no matter where I am. I can be at the Target less than a mile from my house and I hit roam. Unbelievably bad. The only reason I hung with them so long is the one number dialing feature. I've finally had enough.

2. I'm talking land lines, not cell...

Good to know about their cell quality though...

I recently ditched Sprint for Verizon when the contract ended. Sprint still thinks I'm in contract and slapped me a $150 cancellation fee. Looks like I'll be contacting them, the BBB, and every other site I can find.

No more Mr. Nice Consumer from me.

3. I read sometime ago
that the Carlyle group bought some list from Quest. Does anyone know what I'm speaking of? Sorry I can't recall this any better.
