AVATAR UPLOADERS: RatTerrier's avatar creation clinic is now open

I've been tooling away with IrfanView (maybe too much) and have created some neat avatars.

I noticed some of you were having problems with yours. Let me know here and I'll size it up and clean it up for you.

Don't worry - I do have a life. But these are quick to put together. Here's a few I whipped up:

1. Don't know how to create an avatar. Would like to.

Try a Google image search:

I assume you know how to save images on your HD and upload them, right?

3. I made my avatar from this image but it kind of sucks

Could you resize it in a nicer fashion? I used MS Office's PhotoEditor.

4. Fine line drawings are tough

Detail is tricky for 48x48 (which I really don't have to shrink down to, but I do to get a feel for the finished product). Here goes:



I darkened it a little with Irfan. You can also make it a different color by adjusting gamma on 'enhance colors':

7. question

if i've already uploaded one avatar, and want to change to another uploaded one, does it overwrite the 1st?
i tried to upload another, it ended up with the same ref. # and didn't change it...
we are limited to one, right?

8. It's tricky

Make sure the format is correct (jpg or gif).

Also, don't forget to hit the 'update' button in your 'options' screen.

I had a heck of a time changing mine last night. I guess I just got lucky.
