Parents of young children: do you ever make up alternate lyrics to children's TV show theme songs?
For example:

"Make way for Noddy (Noddy!), he's driving in his car.
Make way for Noddy (Noddy!), he's cruising leather bars."

Or:

"I'm just a kid who's four,
my mother is a whore,
I like exploring,
I'm Caillou."

1. LOL
not quite the same, but your post reminded me of a couple of moments -

Noddy! is he on U.S. tv now? my sons were pre-schoolers when we were living in Belgium and my younger son loved Noddy on the BBC. One time we were watching the show and Noddy was upset because he's forgotten to bring his rubbers to school. I had to not blow coffee out my nose when I heard that one. just recently I told my son about that moment. (rubbers are brit-speak for erasers.)

my older son thought that Sweet Baby James' lyrics were "thinking about bunnies and glasses of juice" until he was in high school. I used to sing that one to him when he was going to bed when he was younger.... I didn't even know he remembered the song until he asked me if the real lyrics weren't... women and glasses of beer. he also thought the words to Bob Marley's "Wait in Vain" were "I don't wanna wear a band-aid for your love..."

Barney was the big deal when my kids were babies. Death to Barney!

2. not me, but my dad
(don't know why he came up with this one, because even my youngest sister, who was the right age, didn't watch it)

Barney

Barney was a dinosaur
His brains the size of onions
He died a million years ago
His bones in the Simthsonian
