I went to the Dallas Farmer's Market this afternoon.
It doesn't look like all the troubles have impacted the fresh-off-the-farm prices very much as of yet. There are still plenty of fresh fruits and veggies available, and sales are very brisk.
I have to wonder how long before this venue becomes too expensive for regular folk to take advantage of.
The stuff isn't shipped all over hell and back. And the natural and organic farmers don't use fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides... all the things that are rising in prices. There's just a chance that this will be the thing that gets people eating more local and in season. Let hope so. :hi:
