I'm bawling hysterically: Next to last episode of "Sex and the City"
Big is going to get her back in Paris and propose to her. I knew Carrie would not be happy in Paris.

I started crying when Charlotte cried at the last dinner, but when big made that last phone call and then met with the girls I bawled like I haven't bawled in years.

I couldn't even stay tuned to "Iron Jaw Women" which is a movie I was looking forward to on HBO. I'll catch that one on 'On Demand'

7. Have your tissues ready
I have HBO digital cable, so I'll be able to watch it again at midnight.

It's probably one of the best episodes EVER of SATC.

13. I've always hated the way Big treated her
Last night he seemed contrite but I'm not sure I believe him.

I was really pissed that the Russian didn't meet her at the airport and then blew her off for the day! His standing went down a lot in my eyes.

In my perfect Carrie world, she'll get her own job and her own apartment in Paris. Tell Alexander that these are HER terms. If he wants to accept them, fine. If not...see ya.

And now there's Big. I'm not sure how I feel about him right now.

I love these women. They've gone from shallow to strong. I don't want it to end!

Nice necklace though. :)

14. The "bad boy" (Big) is finally gonna come through,
declare his undying love and become the perfect husband.

Not very realistic, but it sure suits my fantasy!

15. I feel the same way
I always hate that concept of "getting rescued by a man" because of well, a multitude of reasons. It's never quite healthy really. Relationships should be about living harmoneuosly side by side and when one person ends up with too much power (emotional or finacial), the other can ultimately feel a bit stuck in the end.
Anyhow, I always liked Aidan. He was the best out of all her men, he truly loved her for who she was, was healthy and sane, was willing to commit, and she f*cked it up royally.

16. She's not going to stay in Paris
You can tell she hates it.

But she isn't going to go running back to Big either.

She'll go back to NYC to be with her family (Charlotte, Miranda & Samatha) and be with Big on her terms.

The Russian is so thoughtless, he got her that damn necklace as a replacement for something as sentamental as the "Carrie" necklace. $10 says Big comes to Paris with the replacement "Carrie" necklace and that will make her realize that there is no place like home.

17. Yeah, I'm kinda lukewarm on the Big storyline...
I hope they don't end it with Carrie going from one man - Aleks - to Big. I wish she'd stay in Paris, too, because her friends clamoring for her to stay in NY seems limiting, too. I like Aleks, but he and Carrie aren't terribly compatible, she and Big are much more so but I'll be really disappointed if the end of the story is the resolution of the "man" issue, there's so much more going on in Carrie's, and the other characters', lives that if it all boils down to Big finally coming to his senses it will be a real letdown.

Besides, after all of Big's bad behavior, I still wouldn't trust him, even if he swam to the Antarctic for Carrie. They need time, not a quickie resolution.

18. Looks like Carrie is a one-trick (town?) pony
Her act didn't play in LA, and she's already cooled on Paris after only a week in town. Her problems with Paris seem to arise from her own naivety - she barely learned any French, she insisted on running to Dior to present herself almost immediately upon arriving...and she seemed more worried about looking the part of a Frenchified Yank than becoming one over time.

I wonder what her first week in NYC was like.

19. Her main desire is to be the center of the Russian's world
but she's not-- he is the center, and she is merely a supporting actress whom he likes to know is there when he wants her.

20. Seriously, do any guys watch this?
I tried, and I'm gay, and I never cared for it. I thought I would. Anyway, two women at work today were going on and on about the episode last night--pretty close to the comments here!

21. Comments from someone who has only watched for a few months.
The red head is a spolied brat who treats her husband pretty badly..
The brunette is a flake who has too much money
The blonde is getting old and acts outrageously to "prove" to herself that she's "still got it"..
Carrie is ditzy and has no idea what she wants to really do with her life..
<ducks>

23. I've been on pins and needles...
Edited on Mon Feb-16-04 08:18 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
for weeks now, watching the new story lines unfold. I think the last few episodes have been very touching -- tears galore. :)

At first I thought The Russian was a good match for Carrie but it's clear the writers are setting him up to be far too wrapped up in his own world for Carrie and her family. Miranda (as always) was right during last weeks episode -- Carrie went to Paris to live The Russian's life, not her own.

(I have a real-life friend who did just that. She went to Germany and got married to a native who had no intention of ever leaving, and started a family. Even though she has become fluent in the language and developed a circle of friends there, she is just miserable a good portion of her time. She misses her family, her hometown and the friends she's had since childhood. Even though she visits once or twice a year, going back to Germany leaves her in tears. I was her "Miranda" back in the day, questioning if she really knew what she was getting into. But she, like Carrie was scared. She was 35 and a divorcee who didn't want to start all over again finding a new boyfriend in the States. She loves her kids and likes her husband, but I think she has always regreted her decision.)

Big has some 'splainin' to do -- BIG time. He has treated Carrie terribly in the past and has much to make up for. Is he trustworthy? I don't know. I did like that he finally voiced what the smart viewers have known all along -- this series has ALWAYS been about the "love affair" between the women. I think the folks who think it's just about sex never got that, and I think that's why so many women truly love this show.

What I think is going to happen:

Big is going to go to Paris. I think he's going to show up at the big opening -- they have talked SO much about The Russian's show and teased about his "light installation", so I figure it's going to take a center place in the final episode. I envision Carrie & Big in front of the room-size piece, having their final showdown.

What the final outcome will be -- I don't know for sure. I have ideas of what I'd LIKE to happen, but we'll have to see. :)

Forgot to ad:

Be sure to watch "Iron Jawed Angels" -- it is WONDERFUL and a great reminder for all us women on how far we have come, and how important it is to pay homage to those women who have come before us by living our lives to their most full.
