The BEST scene in "Gone With the Wind" is Rhett carrying Scarlet up the staircase - but, then, I'm a romantic!

NOT - "when all the Southern boys couldn't wait to go to war til nobody told them how bad it was gonna go for them" . . .

1. Nope!1 It's the scene where Scarlett goes for the doctor

And the camera is a tight close up of their two faces facing each other, and Scarlett is demanding that the doc go deliver Melanie's baby, and the doc says he can't go right now, and she INSISTS, and he tells her he CAN'T GO right now, is BUSY!1


And the camera pulls back and pans over THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of wounded soldiers lying in rows and rows, and ends up with the confederate flag (ugh) flying over all.


Either Scarlett's selfishness is over the top, or the depiction is (can ANYBODY be so selfish and DENSE as that?)-- but that sequence encapsulates both character and epic.



Maybe Tweety was just having a flashback to when he was HAWKING for the run-up to the Iraq Attack. (Don't no nobody tell me here that Tweety "was always against the war"!1 You'd better NOT!1)
