How much water do you drink every day?
Today was day one of my new water drinking regimen...I'll admit that I'm pretty water averse. Today I drank about 50-60 ounces. I didn't even have to make myself do it. Must be my new purple water bottle. :P

How about you?

:hi:

3. A lot
3-4 mugs of tea in the AM,2-4 mugs of water in the afternoon, Large glass with dinner, 1-3 glasses in the evening.
Almost every time I get a cold it usually comes on after 2 days of not drinking a lot of water.

7. Between 64 and 80 ounces per day.
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 05:39 PM by Scooter24
It depends on what I'm working on. I have a habit of drinking water even when I'm not thirsty- usually when I'm tied down reading or working on a project. I drink more at the gym and in the mornings.

I'm a bit addicted to Fiji water :)

10. We have a Brita at the house...
At school, I'll have to fill it at the fountain. I really want to stick with this.

16. We put in two seperate in-line systems at our house
a reverse-osmosis system for our kitchen and bar, and a carbon system for our bathrooms with a water softening agent. Amazing quality of water, but when it comes to drinking water I'm sort of spoiled on the bottle variety. Plus I'm alway on the move, so it's easy to just grab and go.

Stick with it. Your body will adjust and you'll feel more hydrated than ever :)

11. I have like 4-5 Glaceau Essential
per day, sometimes more.

I can't drink regular water, I find it boring and it tastes yucky when warm, so I just drink flavored water.

I prefer Evian, myself, but I live with the Brita. One of these days I'll order my real favorite, Vitttel from France. It's kickass mineral water. :D

13. The "8 glasses of water a day" thing is actually a myth:
http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp

Now, that doesn't mean we don't need to consume water, but we can get enough hydration from food and other beverages (and no, beer probably isn't a good substitute), that we don't NEED 8 glasses of water a day.

I had heard about this "mythifiction" a few months ago, and found this bit today.

14. Yeah, I know, but I think I'm chronically dehydrated, esp. lately.
Lots of toxin buildup. Haven't been eating particularly well or much, drinking way too much coffee and alcohol. It's my slow motion system flush :D

27. I am chronically dehydrated too.
My doctor thinks it's what causes most of my headaches. I work outside and often on a boat for hours at a time. I drink very little because there is no easy access to a bathroom. Well there is the great outdoors but on the land there are few trees to hide behind and, lots of snakes so I am reluctant to say the least. I walk the line between dehydration and heat stroke. I drink enough barely to avoid heat exhaustion.

And I almost never drink water during the day except with meals and the occasional trip to the water fountain.

19. 1-2 qts, if I'm on track.
I start out every day with 8 oz of cran-water with some psyllium husks, (to help keep the ole colon working!) and then I have 16 oz of hot lemon water......followed by another 16 oz of super-strong coffeee....followed by another 16 oz of fruit protein smoothie.

That's my typical morning routine: 56 oz of fluid w/in the first hour of waking.

If I workout that day, it's even more.

Of course, I'm peeing CONSTANTLY. :D

26. I don't really keep track, I just drink when I'm thirsty.
I get headaches as soon as I start getting dehydrated, so I do a pretty good job of getting enough water.

I use a water bottle with a built in filter when I'm out and about, because I don't want to buy water, and the tap water here can taste a little off.

29. It used to be a lot
Last year for some months I was addicted to Evian, it was just wonderful. But in the months where I was admitted to the Alfred, I went off it and gravitated towards the sweeter, sugary drinks. That's when I changed. Alas!

This thread just inspired me to request for some bottled water.

36. Recently, about 84 ounces
60 of which is the "pure" form after being filtered through a Brita filter, the other 24 have a bunch of additives mixed into it. Collectively, it is known as "Diet Pepsi".

This is a recent change. Before, all 84 ounces were of the "Diet Pepsi" varient. But now I bring 12-ounce Gatorade bottles to work I've refilled with Brita water. I can fit 6 in my cooler, along with my lunch and an ice pack.

And a book, of course!

37. All day
I have a glass of orange juice in the morning, then nothing but water. That's been the case for 25+ years.

I get kidded in Las Vegas casinos for never ordering alcohol from the cocktail waitresses in sportsbooks, but many of my friends who did go that route have had ailments along with dependency. One guy I knew was found dead in his apartment when his liver burst, late 40s.

I have to fill my Brita dispenser at least 5 times per week. It's a full dispenser, not the pitcher version.
