My hand and wrist joints are killing me today!
So odd...Woke up and it was my right thumb base joint that hurt when I flexed it. By the end of the day, it was both hands and wrists, all joints.

Now, being a hypochondriac of the nth degree, I of course assume that I have been suddenly struck down with a case of fibromyaligia or arthritis, overnight. Sniffa thinks I'm just dehydrated. I took some Ibuprofen, it feels a little better. Hm.

Not asking for medical advice, just complaining.

1. What did you do yesterday?
If you spent the day opening jars or something, that could explain it.

4. Nope, nothing out of the ordinary
That's why it's so odd. I do know that dehydration can cause joint pain b/c the cartilage needs water to move in a painless way, I think. And I drink a shitload of coffee and a moderate amount of booze. Maybe wine sulfites? I dunno. Hopefully it'll be better tomorrow. :)

9. Let's make the appts over two days.
That way, I can stay at your house and we can go to one on one day, and another on the next day. We can be in hypochondriac heaven!

3. Yikes! That does sound a bit like the beginnings of fibromyalgia
mine always starts in my hands the spreads to the rest of me. Maybe it's nothing, though. Try taking glucosamine and MSM daily and see if that stops it cold.

BTW- I have a "French language emergency". One of my contracts is on hold because I need to change the verbiage on some text that is part of the design; it's in French, and I don't speak French but was told that you do. I sent a PM, but maybe it didn't make it for some reason.

17. Did you eat more than usual: tomatoes, eggplant or peppers?
More and more research is showing a relationship between osteoarthritis and the nightshade vegetables. I have had to cut back and it really does help.

21. Sorry to hear that, glad you're better
As I type this, I hope by now the pain has cleared itself up.

By the way, last Friday I suffered an epileptic fit. Alas at the time it struck I was standing near a wall in our kitchen, which I collided with, injuring my back and right elbow in the process. I've taken panadol for it and the pain is less severe. In these moments, sometimes I try and paint a pretty picture - Dostoevsky was an epileptic and unfortunately for him in his time, he couldn't take medication which would stamp it out for four years. I'm not criticising you, but I find it a coping measure to say to myself, "this sucks, but medical technology has advanced itself, so I can even consider myself fortunate compared to those in the past, perhaps". There's something terrible-sounding about my saying that. To close, again, I'm not being criticle at all.

23. sounds like de Quervain's syndrome
which I have off and on. The good news is that it's not lethal or fibromyalgia, arthritis or any of all that. I know you said no medical advice, but check it out. There is a definitive test for it you can do at home. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeQuervain's_syndrome

And the whining is another symptom. I'm a 100% red-blooded card-carrying hypochondriac, myself.
