"No matter how old you get, we will always love you."
 OMG, too funny!

.....from a homemade birthday card a couple weeks ago from my 11 yr old daughter.

I just found it again as I was cleaning off my desk and I HAD to share this precious gem.

I guess at 44 I'm ancient now. :eyes: Yikes.

7. Oh that reminded me so much of the book I used to read to my son
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 11:34 AM by auntAgonist
Love You Forever: Robert Munsch.

A young woman holds her newborn son and looks at him lovingly. Softly she sings to him: "I'll love you forever I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living My baby you'll be."

========

The story begins while a son has just been born. The story then continues through the life of the boy until he is a grown man. The mother continues to rock her son to sleep singing "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my baby you'll be." Later, he is the father of a little girl. At the very end of the story, the role is reversed and he holds his elderly mother as she is dying and says "I'll love you forever I'll like you for always as long as I'm living my mommy you'll be."

this is a must have book.

The illustrations are precious. My son bought the book and reads it to Ella. She loves it. She's going to be 2 on the 19th.

12. I think I'll get a copy as a gift for my cousin and his wife, who just had a boy
sadly, he was a twin and the twin (a girl) was stillborn. Anyway, they already have another son who is about 3, so they'll be able to relate to the boy thing.

Thanks, and congrats and blessings to you, Ella and your family.

13. Mother's Day card our daughter made:
She was 7 or 8?
She wrote
M
O
T
H
E
R
down one side and proceeded to fill in appropriate words.
I forgot what the rest were, but when she got down to 'R' she wrote
"Right! You are always right!"
I guess I'd told her 'Mom's right' enough times that it sank in.
;-)

In our family it's: "If Mommy is happy, everybody is happy."

Of course, it goes without saying the OPPOSITE is true, as well. :D

I remember, as a little girl, hearing my mother's concern about people getting married too young. Wanting to reassure her that I would never do something like that, I said, "Mommy, I'm not going to get married until I'm really old...19."

I hope my daughter never does anything that stupid. :D

23. One day, my daughter wanted to do something special....
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 05:09 PM by AnneD
she had not done all of her work yet, but I let her do the fun thing. Afterward, she asked why I was being so nice to her. I deadpanned that I came to the realization that she would pick my Nursing Home one day (I worked at a Nursing home and she 'volunteered' sometimes). I told her I wanted to go to the Dollar a Day Nursing Home not the Dime a Day Nursing Home.

Well, come Christmas Day, one of my small square home made gifts was a Post-it notes from a medical vendor. A shiny penny was glued to the pad with this note from my frugal daughter-age 9- that said, "Don't worry Mom, I found a Penny a Day Nursing Home." :eyes::rofl:

This was the same kid that went to the church across the street and asked the secretary a bunch of questions about the Church before she joined. When the secretary asked why she was so curious-my daughter said she was comparison shopping churches.:eyes::rofl:

27. Awww...what a great story! That's hilarious.
My dtr is a great one for writing cute little notes on post-its, too.

Last night she made a sweet one for MrShine and left it on his side of the bathroom mirror, in our master bathroom.

It said, "Thank you for working."

He's been working really hard lately, so it was pretty damn sweet of her to do that....completely on her own.

28. My daughter loved Post-its...
and when we got her a little camera (the one that makes the sticker pictures), she made a drivers license for herself...She took a picture of her Barbie doll but the address and state on the license was Honolulu Hawaii. I still have that one too.

She and my friend's daughter asked to borrow my foot tub (it was a spa foot tub) and asked if they could put some water in it. I gave they permission. After a while they came down stairs and asked me if I would like to join Barbie's Spa. They handed me a Post it membership card and I went upstairs to view their creation. It was an elaborate set up with her doll house, deck, and my foot tub bubbling away with Ken and a couple of Barbies in the tub.

What could I do. I told them that I thought my membership had elapsed and gave them a couple of dollars which they happily spent at the neighborhood store for some treats.
