Speaking of movies...
I saw "Into The Wild" Friday night and I am still thinking about it. What a heartfelt story, heartwarming yet deeply moving (for me anyway). Hal Holbrook was up for Academy Award this year for supporting actor...I can see why. Anyone else see it yet? It's just one of those flicks you have to share....like The Station Agent.

1. I saw it and I agree
it was well done and the story itself is moving, it is controversial because people argue/debate the wisdom and ethics of Supertramp but that in itself, getting people talking about such things, means there is something important about the story.

I read the book years ago and I thought the movie told the story as well as the book.

2. I never read the book...
So I had no idea what the ending held. Hal Holbrook reduced me to tears as did William Hurt in the end (without any socks on, may I add) I will read the book next.

4. Haven't seen the movie but I read the book.
Well written, in fact so well written that I read it in one day during Thanksgiving. I don't know how closely the movie follows the book but I've lent my copy to most of my friends. If you can catch it the IFC channel did an Iconoclasts episode with the writer and Sean Pen. In this documentary they return to the bus with the kid's parents.
