Driving home from dancing tonight, I went to turn left to go over the river but the road was blocked with signs saying the road ahead was closed. This really flummoxed me. It took me about 20 minutes to find another route.

1. Dude. I feel your pain. I still can't find my way around
Richmond and I've lived here for 18 years. NYC? No problem. Boston? Same. Chicago, San Fran, Houston. No brainers. Richmond in podunkville VA? Killer. Absolutely Killer. A + B does not equal C here. At all.

2. It's the freaking one-way streets that get you here.

And most of the time Mapquest doesn't account for them. The one ways and the construction that is going on. Ugh.

17. That's the way it is in Virginia!
I lived in DC for 23 years, and now in MD; I avoid driving in VA like the plague!

6. You were also on the wrong side of the road.
And your steering wheel and controls are on the wrong side of the car. :P

I mean, it's not like you got lost in Wokingham or anything. It's London for christ's sake!

13. If you have to take the scenic route a few more times
I imagine you'll be an expert at finding your way around. :) Was dancing fun?

My city is famous for being impossible to navigate. Fairly good-sized city, about 70,000 residents but I don't even need 1 hand to count how many roads go all the way from one side of town to the other.
