They only had their biggest hits because Brian Wilson wrote for and produced them in 1963. Before that, Jan & Dean's first (and only) top ten hit was four years earlier, with a stupid novelty record called "Baby Talk."

Actually, I think you could add Otis and Carla. The whole "King and Queen" album is simply sublime (is it a collection of every side they recorded? I know they didn't do that much).
