I seem to make a post like this every two months, but perhaps it is worth repeating (particularly when things are a bit volatile here at DU), but I truly mean this:

I cannot believe the kindness, good advice, understanding, compassion and emotional support that I have received here at DU over the past seven months. All I can say is "thank you." And I want to become much more like all of you--able to extend kindness, good advice, understanding, compassion and emotional support. I know that I can do better, and there are so many exemplary examples of that here--thank you all. One day I hope to be as mentally tough, helpful and supportive as you all are.

I don't think I gave you any great advice, except maybe to get that dog. But I don't know how that turned out. Do you still have it? I was worried about that the other day... just out of the blue.

4. Yes, I did get that dog! He is my best friend, my reason to get up

in the morning, and my inspiration to try to do better and be more responsible than I have been lately.
