I've often tried to find a comparison, and James Earl Jones is right in the ballpark for timbre, though The Magistrate has a lot more modulation IMHO. His is a deep and dark and lovely voice, a damn purty voice that just about made me fall in love the first time I heard it.

The Magistrate is not only one of finest and wisest posters of DU, he is not only a recognizable and colorful posting personality, but he was for four months the best mod partner one could ask for in what is probably the most difficult and contentious forum on DU.
