One day after a meetup meeting, I stopped by the grocery store on the way home. I guy in a minivan with his kids (he was waiting for his wife) stopped me and asked me about my button. Said he wasn't much into voting in the past but was registered. But he said it he was definately going to be at the polls this year to help get that idiot out of the White House.

I gave him one of my "No blood for oil buttons" and told him to take the kids with him when he voted. No time like the present to get kids interested in American Civics

This will be the first year I've grown all tomatoes from seed (or allowed them to volunteer as they have in one spot).

I just applied bat guano to my onions, garlic, strawberries, and spinach.

People use it for hedges here in San Diego, and somehow the stores can still sell ounce jars of dried leaves for ridiculous prices. I just composted several pounds of it. Mine's all covered with blue flowers right now.
