Southern Culture On The Skids fans: please help me identify this song!
I have a recording of SCOTS from 1996, and I need to identify this tune:

http://rapidshare.de/files/38893873/SCOTS.mp3.html

(Warning: It's a 13.3 MB file.)

The original recording is not at the right pitch, so I need to figure out what this tune is so I can determine what key it should be in. Then I can make an adjustment from beginning to end to bring the entire recording up to the correct pitch.

1. I bet you've already tried
going to their site and searching their discography or even going to Amazon and listening to the short clips?

2. More or less, yes.
I'm having trouble deciphering the lyrics, though.

4. It's probably supposed to be in "A".
Sounds like some open strings ringing on the guitar lick, even though the recording is closer to "Ab".

5. Actually, I think Ab is correct.
According to somebody on another board, the tune is Slim Harpo's "Shake Your Hips." Of course, I have no idea what key that's originally in, so I had to go to my backup plan: go back one song, figure out the correct key for that, then use that info to determine the correct key for the last song.

The song before it is in Db, so I get the feeling they were tuning down a half-step.
