So, it would seem that Lipitor actually works....
I was put on it about a month ago. I told the doc that my problem was most likely a genetic thing, as I have fairly good diet and exercise habits. Of course, I still got the lecture....

Anyhoo, I just got my new results back (no major diet or exercise changes- just adding the 20 mg of daily Lipitor), and total went from 313 to 180. "Bad" cholesterol went from a whopping 239 to 106. "Good" was relatively unchanged at 42.

I guess I'll pick me up a nice prime grade NY strip steak to celebrate. And Maytag Bleu cheese to put on top. And a cheesecake for dessert. Etc... :woohoo:

6. Oh, I definitely eat my veggies...
More often than not, my diet is leaning toward meat-less...

but I figure a nice, colon-clogging celebratory meal is in order!

:hi:

4. Even with insurance, it isn't "cheap"
$45 bucks for a month's supply...

10. There are generic version of statins, that are much cheaper.
Ask your doctor if these are appropriate for you, and DO NOT view my comments as a recommendation or diagnosis.

When I have my next check-up in a couple of months, I am going to ask me doctor. Target has some of these statins on the $4 program.

:hi:

14. I might ask down the road....
but my actual cost will be lower than $45, since she prescribed me 40 mg tablets and I'm only going to be taking half of a pill per night (she assumed that I would need the 40 mg once my system got used to it). I can live with 22 bucks per month, I guess.

15. ..
You know what I find most ironic, is *** has the nerve to compare someone's inane bunch of posts about their kid's getting paint on their finger nails to a bunch of "bunch of" threads, and then refers to us as needing to get over our selves.

:wtf:
