Check this out ...........

(Snip)

Lundestad said thousands of people, including member of any national legislature or government and many university professors, have nomination rights, so being proposed for the prize is no distinction in itself.

"It's easy to get nominated for the prize, but very hard to win," he said.

Lundestad said he had received thousands of e-mails protesting the nomination of Bush and Blair, for example.

"There is a common misunderstanding. The fact that someone is nominated is in no way a form of endorsement from the committee," Lundestad said.

2. "Bush" and "President" together, is absurd.
Anytime I hear the guy speak, I just can't believe the fast-one the Reps pulled on the US.

4. it was shameful
a year and a half ago when Jimmy Carter won the Peace Prize. If the snivelling media covered it at all, it was to denigrate the prize and Carter. The right wing media whined about it being a slap at Dubya in a disgustingly childish display of sour grapes.

6. I heard on NPR there are over 170 nominated for it this year
If gdub is anywhere above #169 in the rankings, I'd be shocked. The people who actually pick are probably crossing out his name pretty quickly. I'd like to be a fly on the wall there.
