It was 6 years ago on Sunday that I first me Khephra
I met Khephra and then 2 minutes later I met Willpitt. They were in town for the big Philadelphia DU Gathering (80 people we had).

 Miss you Kheph!

1. I wonder how many are still here that remember Khephra
I never really knew him all that well, but we did talk about Black Sabbath a few times in the lounge.

What a sweetie he was. I never got to meet him offline though, to my great sadness. When I learned how young he was, I was hoping that maybe some day ... :-(

We always talked about HP Lovecraft and how being a goth, even a closeted one, had its rewards. He's one of the first people I ever spoke to about myself in that way and actually understood me.

So yeah, I miss him.

18. Right here
he certainly was a man of eclectic musical tastes. I tend to identify him not with Sabbath but with Primus! Go figure.

6. I think alot of us remember Khephra. The speed with which he was
able to get out LBN stories was amazing. A great loss for the DU family and for Khephra's family.

Though there are many newbies who were not around when he passed away.

12. I remember Kephra
unfortunately, the first time I met him face to face was at his funeral. strange thing was that I had not even checked in on DU for a couple of years and the day I did was the day after he died. I felt like I was meant to be at his funeral to pay respects for all the time he put into keeping ppl informed.

There were quite a few DU people who showed up for his funeral. Skinner spoke, at Kephra's mom's request, because DU was so important to Kephra's life. After his funeral, his mom and aunt, I think it was, went out for a wake with DUers. I think someone took pix, even. I don't know how many people who were there are still here...

17. My dear LynneSin...
I never got to meet him, either here, or in RL...

And he died right after I joined...

It was a terrible time...

Someone made a gorgeous wood container for his ashes...

It was stunning...

Even though I never had a meaningful conversation with him, I still miss him too...

He was such an awesome guy. We used to have some phenomenal conversations about metaphysics. And nerd stuff.

He was my favorite DUer from back then. He singlehandedly kept LBN going. I can't even look at the Eye of Horus avatar because it reminds me too much of him.

21. He died very soon after I joined DU. I was just getting used
to relying on him in LBN and appreciating the time and effort he put in to keep us all informed. It was so sad to lose him, and so heartwarming to watch as the DU community reached out to his family. Actually, it was one of the reasons I wanted to stay here--I had never seen that kind of love on a discussion board before.

So, I do remember him. Thank you for reminding us.

22. I remember Khephra
When I first started hanging out at DU I mostly stayed in LBN and GD. Kheph was always interesting. I was shocked when I logged on and found out he had passed.

I remembered trying to post on LBN thinking that maybe I could beat him to the punch. Rarely did I get there first.

R.I.P. Khephra

23. I never 'met' him, but he was very nice to me when I was a newbie.
I PM'd him once to ask him a question and we started 'chatting' like that. He was such a sweet person. DU isn't the same without him.

25. So what am I? Chopped Liver?
I seem to be saying that a lot lately.

I recently tried to find the pic of me sitting at a table with Keph, but I haven't been able to find it. There used to be a link on line to philly pics.

Newyawker99 and RBNYC rode with me to the meeting. Sonofsoleft too.

Miss Keph and Ronnie. Hope she comes back soon.

Whatever happened to Princess Ramsey?

30. He was awesome in so many ways.
I remember one time we were talking about a movie that he had seen. He thought I'd like it too and offered to mail his DVD cross country just so I could see it.

Here's to one of DU's all time finest. :toast:
