Nice ass in the quarter today
After stuffing myself with fried shrimp and fried okra and potato salad at the "Best Soul Food Restaurant in New Orleans" (Pralines) the wife and I were strolling in the quarter when a gust of wind took hold of a 30-something ladies loose fitting dress and twirled it all about revealing that she chose to meander sans undies. Let the good times roll.

Be all you can be. Aim High.

However I do question your judgement quoting Mush Morton relative to sending them to the bottom.

4. A. Technically, Praline's is in the adjacent Faubourg Marigny
B. I was expecting something about a donkey ride or something. Sheesh. Get your mind out of the gutter, as if that were possible down there!

5. Oh My technically correct friend
I told the wife that Pralines was not in the quarter because the residents of the Marigny feel they are much better then the denizens of the quarter. Pralines a mere block away from the quarter and yet a jewel of Frenchmen's. And yet I saw the ass I refer to in the quarter. We always eat early and walk it off afterwards before settling for a beer or two or three (depending on who's driving.) My mind was not in the gutter, the ass (as if on purpose) was in my face for only a few seconds. She was quite proud of herself I might add.

And we enjoyed a visit to the Bywater Arts Market at Markey's Park on Royal where my wife got yet another necklace out of me.

6. I don't have a (yellow) dog in that fight
my neighborhood of record is Carrollton, up by Claiborne, or like I used to tell people, "so far Uptown it's almost Mid-City". (It makes sense if you're from there. Really.)

I pick these nits on behalf of the many "virgins" who may be reading, which reminds me, I've got a whole family of 'em coming down for Jazz Fest. (Not with me, as if. :( ) Any and all advice for these musical New Yorkers is, as always, appreciated.

18. That's so far up Carrollton it *is* Mid-City
the ancestral homestead sits three blocks from (what will again be in a few more weeks) the end of the St. Charles streetcar line. We've got action "up at the corner", too: a place to "make groceries" (that is, shop) is (they say; it's been in the works since just pre-K) coming in summer, along with a bank and drug store. Oddly, this, as well as the strip mentioned in today's Cat Box Liner, :-) is a lot more activity than in most of the 17 areas the city circled on a map and declared to be "revitalization areas"...

7. Hey submariner
Nice to see New Orleans hasn't lost its humor and soul.

Heard a joke in France:

Pourquoi les Belges n'ont plus de sous-marins?
Parce qu'ils ont organise une journee a portes ouvertes.

Why don't the Belgians have submarines any more?
Because they organized an open house (lit. an "open-door day.")

Yeah, I know, I kill ya.

13. Now that explains something I've been trying to figure out. Albany,
New York has a fine looking old district with many charming homes, row houses, stores, restaurants and bars. It's cewrtianly comparable to the Freench Quarter but is relatively unknown. Maybe the snow has something to do with that?

17. You are so right My Friend
I am technically challenged with such ventures but I didn't get a pic anyway. Just imagine an attractive brunette (not model thin but not hefty) with a comehither look faking a "oh my I've gotten caught with my naked ass exposed for all to see" gesture AT ME. And then, as if stunned, she decided to take a second or two longer then usual to make everything okay again. Imagination is so much better then pictures.
