GodDAMN my roommates.
I go away for a couple of days, I come home, and we've got HBO.

HBO and I have a long, bitter history. That shit is addictive. Especially for a recovering cinephile like me. I swear, my grades would have been higher in high school if not for that tempting mistress. And don't even get me started about 2002, the Year of HBO. (It was the year I discovered "The Sopranos" and "Six Feet Under"...and my bank account paid the price.)

How could they do this to me??

1. If you can’t overcome your addiction in this life, you will pay for it in the next.
HBO is just a tool to aid you in your enlightenment, move forward and don’t tarry, your soul is at stake. Your roommates are actually trying to help you; you should count yourself lucky that they care, most people would be happy to have roomies like yours.

7. And after that...the TiVO/DVR craziness will begin again.
I gave up my TiVO in 2003, after realizing our relationship was profoundly co-dependant. It's been hard, not having a connection like that with anyone or anything else, but I've probably gotten a lot more done because of that decision. And now...sob...there's HBO in the living room RIGHT NOW.

Help me, Loungers. I've fallen from grace.

8. Is the young woman from "Ugly Betty" your roommate, by any chance?
'cause if she is, you could say "God damn America" and mean it!
