Crikey!

Adapt to your single-dom folks.

You are in control.

You are the pilot of your own destiny.

I've been single for 4 years, now, and I've never been happier.

You can laugh at your buddies when they go to "check their messages"(yeah....riiight....you check those messages, say hi to Deirdre for me) when they're at the bar.

You can stay out late.

You can wear the same T-shirt all weekend long, and not shave.

You can watch televised sports, uninterrupted.

Oodles of stuff to do, and nobody to answer to.

2. I do miss that.
I love my family, and they are everything to me. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change a thing.

But there were advantages to being out on my own. I could stay out as long as I pleased and not worry about keeping someone up worrying about me. I could buy things without worrying, because I only had to answer to myself whether or not I could afford it. I belonged to a circle of friends who were all single as well, and we were very much like a family. It was a fun time in my life.

There are definitely disadvantages. It can get lonely, for one. But, for me, it wasn't all bad.

3. I am EXTREMELY happy with the single life
I can do what I want, when I want, and the only ones to whom I have to answer are my pets.

To all of those who would insist on trying to "hook me up" or convince me that I should be married and having kids: Screw you! I like my life and prefer to be single. I feel no need to conform to your view of what constitutes a full life.
