Is it really so wrong to object to what happens in a comic strip?
In an on-line comic strip I read, 2 storylines bothered me.
In the first one, a guy tries to rape a female character, and the female's 11-year old son stops the rape by beating the guy with a baseball bat, putting him into the hospital.
That isn't what I object to.
But in the storyline, the female's friends "visit" the would-be rapist in his hospital room, lying there pretty much helpless, and then murder him.
None of the vigilantes suffer any consequences for the murder.
In the second one, that same 11-year old boy has sex with a female the same age, she intitiates the sexual play since her father molests her.
Again, no one suffers any consequences.
(Except for the father of the female, he is killed in a FBI raid due to him being a fugitive for other crimes.)
In a discussion group about this strip, I raise objections to this cavalier treatment of serious subjects, and get flamed.
