I just bought a Nokia 3510i...

Remember we are on GSM over here...

Anyone have any experiences ...?

On edit, I paid 460 AED or just over $100 U.S. dollars.

If you wanted a simple, small cell phone with Multimedia messaging, then you did choose well.
It seems a little expensive (AFAIR the UAE are duty-free), but not by much.

I would've picked a Tri-band phone, but it doesn't matter if you're not planning to use the phone in the US.

2. Buying a triband phone is pointless
when there´s no GSM coverage in the better part of the USA. Facing that problem I ended up buying a US phone to use when I´m there in addition to my GSM phone.

GSM phones work in all major cities and on many roads. The coverage is nothing like the coverage in Europe, but it's not totally useless either.
