We move the clocks forward this weekend.
Was it ever this early?

Whatever...great news. This winter is slowly ending. :-)

5. No, it wasn't, as you remember correctly ...
Beginning in 2007, most of the United States begins Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.

<snip>

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush Doofus signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to resume the 2005 Daylight Saving Time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.

The previous schedule was it starting on the first Sunday in April and ending the last Sunday in October.

7. I hate that they are doing it this early.
It means come April, I will have to work an extra hour twice a week. It sucks to get home at 10 pm, after a 13 hour day.

9. I'd rather we unplug them completely
Get rid of the calendar while we're at it.

11. I don't think moving the clock will help.
Last year I moved the clock from the dresser to the chest of drawers.
The next morning when I turned on C-span I found out I was an hour behind everyone else.
This year I'm leaving the clock in the same place and just resetting the time on it.
Now...which way?
:silly:

14. Oh....right.
Well, in ALMOST all of the country. You're absolutely right. I envy you folks out there. This turning back the clocks one hour in the fall and turning them ahead in the spring is sort of pointless, IMO.

15. It's really nice to let Mother Nature adjust the daylight naturally.
The sunset is early in the summer, around 7:45pm, but we're grateful here for the darkness when the temps are over 100 degrees.
It's also nice not to have that jarring, abrupt change in time twice a year. I wonder if the rest of the country will ever stop DST?
