Hmmmm, I have lived through Chicago weather varying from -27 to +105. Went to work in the -27 and worked in an office with broken AC in one bout of +105. Brought a fan from home and sweated like a pig.

Lovely winter in Rantoul. When my dad retired from the AIr Force, he thought about going back to southern IL where his family is. My mom told him, essentially, no fucking way am I driving in snow, bub. So they stayed in TX.

Southern Illinois gets lots of ice storms -- they get ice, we get snow. Except when we get ice. I have driven to work on that, too, very slowly.

Most of the time we get ice too. Snow is rare. Last time we had meaurable snowfall was 1985. 13 inches.

Ice sucks...give me snow any day.

always gave me a chuckle when they have to shut down a major city in the south for about 2 inches of snow when in the last 2 weeks thiers 9 foot piles at the end of my driveway. and i didnt even get a 1 hour late start from school any of those days.
