Anyone have a whippet?
We moved to a new place and might have room for a small creature that doesn't shed much. How old should you get one and from where?

1. You mean those small canisters
that you use to make whipped cream

that we used to inhale to get high

when we were young and stupid?

I think you can get them at party supply stores.

13. I hear that
not much different than snorting paint (I never did that, but still, how different was the whippet in the parking lot?)

4. As with any pet, go to a shelter or animal rescue.
If you search for a whippet on petfinder.com, you should have some success.

8. Shelter or rescue
If you can't find a whippet group look for Greyhound rescues and they might be able to direct you. Italian Greyhounds are another option, some of the can be pretty good sized.
It will need to run, but only for short bursts. Then its couch potato time.

12. whippets (like greyhounds) need to RUN...A LOT. They are very high strung animals
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 06:02 PM by youthere
and need a great deal of attention. They are terrific pets but they are high maintenance because they are such a high energy dog. There are a lot of "Adoption/rescue" agencies that find homes for retired racers...if you're sure this might be the right kind of dog for your family and your space, they can help you.
Here's a place to start:
