I did have to walk uphill bothways to school

Our house was on the edge of a valley and across the valley was the school. So walking to school and home, I had to walk uphill both ways.

The long way was totally flat and at sea level, the short way had the hill. I chose the hill

Whether it is a hill or a valley between you and your school, you have uphill both ways going on there. It's an absolute certainty. I can't believe people do not believe uphill both ways exists. It does though. My yard is uphill in all four directions from the edges. I live on the side of a humongous hill that has so many hills and valleys that mowing it almost kills me and the triffads just laugh at me. It's strange.
