What is the deal with Ridley Scott?
Anyone know why after almost thirty years of making superlative, amazing films, this man has not won a single Oscar for Best Director, even when some of his films have won Best Picture?
There must be some reason he doesn't win, even when his films win "Best Picture", as in the case of Gladiator (I think). Why is this man not better liked among the studios, established Academy, and so forth?
And who could forget "Thelma and Louise"?
He is going to wind up in the same sad bin with Kubrick, as amazing directors who were never recognized before they died. That would be a horrible, hideous shame.
