My sister's cat uses the toilet.
My sister came home the other day to the sound of someone peeing in her bathroom. She looked inside, and it was her cat, Frodo. She said that he had his ass completely in the toilet and was peeing. She called for her boyfriend to come and see, but by the time he got there, Frodo was finished and hopped off the commode. Has anyone else heard of a cat doing this untrained?

3. You can get a device for your bowl...
it's like a shallow litter box..the cat gets used to going in there, then you remove it and voila..no more litter and a cat that uses the toilet.

10. It's called the "catseat."
You can check it out for yourself at:

http://www.catseat.com

I'm so tempted to buy one. I know it's expensive, but not as expensive as constantly replacing litter!

5. Yeah, my calico Persian did it
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 09:21 PM by jmowreader
In fact, she refused to go anywhere else. And she'd sit there on the bathtub giving you *that* look (she would have meowed at you too, except she couldn't meow) all the time you were on the toilet if she had to go too.

On edit: We had her meowlessness checked out. Cats have two voiceboxes, one for purring and one for meowing. This cat had no meower.

9. That is so cool
I've heard of it. I'd love to potty train my cats (no more litter box!) but I've never made the effort.

11. A friend's cat many years ago
Used the toilet without being trained. I have tried to teach my own (I have 2 books on the subject) but without success.

12. Yep, my beloved Smokey, may he rest in peace
did that

My mom thought we were peeing in the toilet and not flushing until one day she woke up in the middle of the night, went in to the bathroom, and caught him peeing in the toilet!

He would anxiously wait outside the bathroom door every morning while my dad was in the shower. My dad would open the door and in he would go and take a pee :-)
